Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes

Over at the Simon Says Stamp challenge blog their Wednesday Challenge is an anything goes.

I am still enjoying Catherine Poolers floating inlaid die cut technique she did a while back, I also am enjoying Essential by Ellen dies, this time I used their Wild Garden dies designed by Julie.

I am using Tim Holtz water color paper and the Wild Garden stand alone dies by Ellen Hutson.

I ran threw my Big Shot textured side up and in between wax paper.
I water colored them with my Kuretake water color palate.
I cut a 5 inch by 2 inch piece of clear acetate.

I purchased my from Micheal's in their art department.

Its called Grafix Dura-Lar.
I used small dots of Tombow Mono glue and also small pieces of foam after the glue had dried.

Finished Card, I used a blue water color for the back ground.

Side view, I used a Technique Tuesday stamp called "Birthday" from their say it collection.

After I took the first photos I decided to add a little clear Wink of Stella to the flowers and stems.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Thank You"

Over on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog for Monday's the theme/challenge is "Thank You".

I cant remember what company all these circle dies came from but theres a bunch and I got them from Micheal's.

I lined them up on a 4 by 5 1/4 piece of heavy weight white card stock also from Micheal's and ran them threw my big shot, I then added two more and ran threw again.
I store all my label, circle, rectangle, square, oval dies in this bin because its easy to access and I have them in zip lock baggies.
I am using a Stamps of Life 6X6 paper pad called Hello Friend.

Using Tombow Mono Glue to adhere different size patches of colors to the back of the panel.
That's how the back looks, messy but pretty, ha ha.
I added some more Tombow Mono Glue to the panel and added a piece of fun foam cut to the size of 3 3/4 by 5.
I cut out the Simon Says Stamp "thanks" die three times from scrap white card stock and glued them together using a little bit of Tombow glue.

I then used my Wink of Luna pen in blue to cover the die cut.

Finished card, I used Freckled Fawn wood stars, Studio Calico wood arrows, and Hobby Lobby enamel dots.

Essentials by Ellen May Pin-Sights Challenge

My first time entering the Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge, this one is for May.

I wanted to do a card with inlaid die cutting using the Bold Blossoms dies but I just couldn't get it to work, I think I went threw six card bases before giving up completely.  I went to bed and then tried again today, as we were getting ready for the day I remembered Catherine Poolers card where her Die Cuts were floating and thought hey that might just be the solution to my problem and it was, it worked and only took me 45 minutes.

I started off using a top folded card base made from heavy weight card stock from Micheal's, their Recollection brand.

I cut two flowers and two leaves from one side.
I also cut out two more flower and leaves out of Tim Holtz water color paper and used my Peerless water color to color them.

The colors were Olive Green and Arbutus Pink.
I am using these clear sheets from Dura-Lar, I purchased from Micheal's.
I added some double sided tape to adhere the clear sheet to the inside of the card.
After the flowers and leaves were dry I added tiny amounts of Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to adhere them to the clear sheets.
I placed the card base back into my trimmer and lined up the flowers and leaves to the 4 1/4 mark and trimmed off the one side so that the card would fit into a standard sized envelope.
Using scrap black card stock I die cut three times a "YOU" die from Simon Says Stamp and adhered it with tiny drops of Tombow Mono Glue.

Wax paper between the die and card stock really helps make removing the card stock from the die a whole lot easier.
My Micheal's recently got in Wink of Stella Glitter and Luna pens and I kind of went nuts using a coupon and bought a few.

I added some black Wink of Luna to the top of the you and it just looks awesome, like a soft grayish silver.
Selective inking to only get the "THINKING OF", this stamp set came from Simon Says Stamp as well called "On Edge".
Finished card, I added a tiny strip of black to the side and covered it with more Black Wink of Luna before adhering it to the left side of the card base.

Paper Clip Design #2

Here is another paper clip design made with punches.

Here I used a Fiskars punch and a Stampin UP punch.

I also used a 6X6 paper pack from Stamps of Life called Hello Friend.
If you don't care about the back side of the flower you can totally skip this step but I decided to make them the same both side by gluing two together with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.
After the glue dries gently bring up the petals to give it a little dimension.
Put a little dab of glue in the center and place the second flower on top off centered just a bit to make the flower have a little dimension.
Add a little more hot glue and gently add your button on top.

These buttons were from Micheal's along time ago when there $1.50 bins used to be $1.
Add a tiny bit of hot glue to the back of the flower near the petals and then add your paper clip.
Add a little more hot glue and then put your circle over it.
The little circle punch out will help it look pretty on the back but also it will help give the paper clip some extra stability.

The sentiment on the front of my tag is from a My Pink Stamper stamp set called Fruit & Veggie Puns.

I used my Gypsy to design this tag and cut out on my Cricut Machine.
I made a second one with another 6X6 pattern paper pack from the Stamps of Life called Happy Collection.

Paper Clip Design #1

OK I have been obsessed with all these cute paper clips, book marks, and clothes pins on Pinterest.  Of course I have ALOT of paper clips in my craft room and since I would like to start having a small booth at craft fairs with my parents I thought it would be a good time to see how long these would take.

Here is One design I decided to make.

Here I am taking some pattern paper which is from a 6X6 pad called Hello Friend by Stamps of Life and I am putting a little bit of double sided tape on one edge.

I slide the paper clip threw with the long side showing and I remove the backing from the double sided adhesive.
I close the two ends together.

I chose two inches long because that looked good, its all up to you and the size of your paper clip.
Here I am taking my tiny stapler from Stampin UP and stapling at the top as close to the paper clip as I can get.
 How they look.

I got most of my paper clips from the $1 store and some from Target.
I am using a Paper Studio punch to punch out the flowers, its by Hobby Lobby.

I am using the same paper pad, I am also using a mouse pad and a quick stick cap to make the flowers curl up.

Just press down in the center.
Again same paper pad I punched out the leaf from the Bird Builder punch by Stampin UP.

I am also using MFT Hybrid ink to stamp my sentiment on scrap white card stock.

The sentiment stamp came from a Stamps of Life Card Kit club set.
I used a little bit of hot glue to attach everything to the flag part of the paper clip. The pearl is from Micheal's, their Recollection brand.

MFT Sketch Challenge #229

I really do love this recent sketch challenge from My Favorite Things #229, I think its very versatile and a go to for when your in a stump.

This is one of my favorite flower stamp sets, I believe I use this at least once a month if not more.

Its the Sweet Rose stamp and die from My Favorite Things.

I cut out enough flowers and leaves for two cards.

As you see in the picture above I am using Tim Holtz water color paper and sectioned off a space with washi.

I am using Peerless water colors for the blue in the color Turquoise Blue.

Gently remove the tape at an angle to help prevent ripping.
I did have some ripping but you can tell because I used a kraft knife to smooth off the surface and then an eraser to finish it off.

Using a good amount of foam squares because it did curl a little.

I stamped the flowers in Stampin UP Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Certainly Celery, and Pretty In Pink.

The sentiments came from the same stamp set, stamped in Versa Mark Ink.

Inside of card.

Front and Front of envelope, the flowers are on a foam square as well.

Back of envelope.
