CAS(E) this Sketch #214

Over at the CAS(E) this Sketch blog their Challenge #214 seems pretty easy enough.  I recently re arranged my stamp sets and I knew exactly the one I needed to use and I have not used it until now I added some wood veneer from my stash that I rarely use and came up with two Guy cards.

I started off with some 110 Pound Cream card stock that I cut in half to make two top folding cards.

I used a stylus to score and folded it while it was still on my Martha Stewart scoring board and my bone folder to smooth out the crease.
I am using Tip Top Taupe ink and card stock.

I am trying out this new set of Fiskars stamping blocks as well that I recently purchased from Hobby Lobby.
These little raised edges are supposed to help keep your fingers clean from ink.

So far so good.
I am begining to like them. this is my third and forth card making them.

I am just creating a pattern and remember to go off the page and stagger your placement.
This though is very inky but I am using the block to press down a wood veneer set of glasses into the ink pad.
I have some scrap paper on a wood clip board and going to heat embossing with clear over the inked wood veneer.
 First layer.
 Second layer.
I did three layers, and remember to let them cool inbetween.

I am using a ruler and pencil to lightly mark above and below the wood veneer and sentiment.
Tombow Mono Liquid glue to adhere the wood veneer pieces.

Place a clear block on top of the glasses for a bit to let the glue dry.
Finished cards.

Look at that shine and gloss, its smooth too.
I think this can be a girl card as well because you can change out the color to a more girly color.

Over at the Lawn Fanatics their first challenge is a Birthday one so I dug up some Lawn Fawn supplies and combined them with other companys from my stash.

I am using a Lawn Fawn Alpha stamp set and a ballon die set along with a Stamps of Life Birthday die.
These are my scrap papers I used for ink blending the balloons.

I used a variety of Tim Holtz ink colors.

I added more ink to the left side and lighter on the right side.
I used some scrap black card stock that had adhesive on the back already to cut out balloon strings.
I used Versa Mark Black Onyx ink and some foam adhesive.

I do end up changing the layout just a bit in the end.
Some scrap fun foam to give the panel some lift.

I cut the strings smaller and made a panel that was the same width as the card but 3 1/2 inches tall to give a border of the colored card base.

The card base is 110 pound colored card stock new to Micheal's craft store.
Finished card.

12X12 Finger Print Heart Layout

Yay, my first 12X12 layout for out "life in picture 2017" Album is done and in their.

I decided to go quick and easy with the first layout and choose some art that Alivia brought home from Pre School during Valentines week.

I sometimes have a hard time chooseing whether to but these types of pieces in their school album or their family album, anyone else have these hard choices to make.

 Here is the art work.

I first cut it down and seperated the heart and saying.
I saw this blue, pink, with white stripe and instantly fell in love with it.  The pink matched perfectly and I think it compliments the layout nicely.

I first found the solid pink and love it too but knew if I layered it behind the photo I would need a pattern to go behind it.
If you look closely you can see white hearts in some of the plaid.
I used blue fun foam to give the two segmants some life.

I am using a blue 12X12 blue for the main area.

The pattern is cut down to 11 1/2 by 11 1/2.

I also matted blue behind the pink.
Finished Layout

I added some doilies to the corner, bright white.
Simple Stories by SN@P in pink to spell out her name.
The doilies give some embellishment but do not over power the page.

12X12 Album 2017 Cover

I decided to decorate the cover of my 2017 12X12 Album, it was pretty quick and easy with minimal supplies and I like it alot.

I used a burlap doilie that I got from the Target $1 spot.

I am using Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to adhere it.
My album is a Becky Higgins Project Life 12X12 called Mint Chevron.
I am using White American Craft Thickers.
Again Tombow Mono Glue to adhere the letters, just to give them extra adhesive.

Tweezers to help no get glue all over my fingers while adhereing the letters to the doilie.
I am using a stamp set from Hobby Lobby, their brand the Paper Studio and some Memento ink.

Along with my Stamp-a-ma-jig to try and get a straight placement.
This is the side,  I did not put January threw December because I have a whole Album dedicated to December.

Studio Calico Sunday Sketches March Entry #2

I decided to participate in the Scrap Book Sketch from the Studio Calico Sunday Sketches blog.

It was geared towards a 9X12 layout but I could not make it work so I turned it into a 12X12, this is a very versatile sketch that I will definitly try and use more often.

I started off by using a 1 inch circle punch and some 3X4 cards from the Becky Higgins Kraft Core Kit.
I cut down two of my photos to 3X4 and also cut down two 4X6 card to a 3X4.

I am using 12X12 Kraft Smith textured card stock in a cream for the base and a brown to mat my photos.

Roughly 1/8 all around the photos.
I then realize the 1 inch circle punch was too large and went threw my punch drawer and pulled out a 1/2 inch circle punch.
I started by adhereing them close to the top and bottom of the page.

Thankfully this is textured and after I put the title on I realized there was too much space between the tittle and the circles so I was able to pull them off and move them down closer to the photos and title.
All finished.

I used some Cork American Crafts Thickers for my title.

I used some Studio Calico sequins and camera chip board for accent.

A wood starburst from my stash.
A wood family speech bubble and arrows from my stash.

Tombow Mono Liquid glue to adhere the wood pieces.
The wood leaf was from a pack of wooden embelishments from Hobby Lobby.

I also used some Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to adhere the letters to the title to make sure they would stay.
Versa Fine Black Onyx ink and a Amy Tangerine Roller Date stamp for the date.

Here is the Sketch I went from.
